The private collection of Lord Archer includes all the great names of political cartoon history from Gillray to David Low, Ronald Searle to Ralph Steadman.
As well as being a prolific and highly successful author, Archer was a member of parliament from 1969-74 and deputy chairman of the Conservative party from 1985-6. Jeffrey Archer has been collecting political cartoons for over 25 years. His strong interest in art started in the 1960s when he was the proprietor of The Archer Gallery in London.The collection has never been seen in public before this exhibition which provides an amusing and satirical look at political life across three centuries.
