Fake, a new exhibition of work from infamous master forger John Myatt, features a collection of brand new original paintings inspired by the most sought after masterpieces from some of the greatest artistic talents the world has ever known.

Since ancient times the theory and practice of the visual arts has been founded on the relationship between the real and its copy. There are few people more aware of this relationship than John Myatt, a central figure from one of the most sophisticated art frauds ever uncovered. Turning his back on deception, John has now used his uncanny talent of replication and impersonation to create a collection so called 'genuine fakes'. This new exhibition at Castle Fine Art, Mayfair is his most ambitious yet. Fake sees John embrace a huge variety of artworks that span hundreds 0f years of art history. From the bold and fantastical geometry of Joan Miró to the dreamy impressionist impasto of Claude Monet, John Myatt expertly shifts between each celebrated artist, absorbing their subject, form and style with finesse and flair.
