Holland Park's Lacey Contemporary Gallery is pleased to present 'Light, Land & Sea'- their first exhibition of British Contemporary Landscape painting featuring artists Alison Johnson, Jonathan Speed and Carole Graslan.
These three exciting painters have been chosen for their atmospheric and emotive interpretations of landscape, which capture the essence and drama of the land and sea, in particular, their reaction to light and the elements of nature.
Inspired by her travels, Warwickshire based artist, Alison Johnson paints the feeling and seeing of wild and raw coastlines to bleak and smouldering moors.
London based photographer and painter, Jonathan Speed paints both the genteel English Countryside as well the raw, untamed continent of Africa. He paints in the contemporary English tradition inspired by masters such as Turner, Whistler & Courbet.
Carole Graslan describes her process as being driven by an inner force, she explores the very process of painting as reworking the canvas in a free search for the essence
of things. Graslan activates the picture surface by creating a relationship between form, space, colour and line.
Each artist works in oil, and are brought together through their desire to convey more than just the impressions of the landscape, but the raw emotions and experiences of each scene.
Join us for this exciting new exhibition opening on Wednesday 17th February with a Private View at Lacey Contemporary Gallery. The exhibition will continue until the 7th March 2016.
