Blue Bee Gallery, an online art gallery specialized in emerging artists, will host the next pop-up art exhibition in London for one afternoon only. Featured artists will be Angy Avendaño and Stefan Finsinger. Location is The Old Mortuary (built 1895) in Rotherhithe.

“We will showcase the artwork of emerging artists in venues, which normally aren’t dedicated to and designed for visual art. By doing so, we want to bring the art to everybody everywhere in order to engage people with a new experience.

The Old Mortuary is not only picturesquely embedded in the green oasis of St. Marys Park, but it is also a sanctuary of the local community.  We agree with the current owner’s, Time and Talents mission to increase the happiness and wellbeing of everyone. After all, art can make people happier.”

Angy Avendaño is born in Venezuela and lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Angy’s art is dedicated to a strong female voice. Her feminist paintings depict monochrome paintings of women in an illustrative style.

“My work explores the relationship between gender politics and nature. With influences as diverse as Gustav Klimt and Soey Milk, new synergies are crafted from both orderly and theatrical illustrations.

The artwork I produce is a reflection and a translation of my own self as a woman. Raised by women in a Latin-American context, the emotional and sensitive link I have with them influence my work.”

Stefan Finsinger is born in Austria and lives and works in London, United Kingdom.

Stefan’s artwork shows a minimalist, abstract, pattern style. These seemingly meditative scribbles act in contrast to our fast-moving, attention seeking society.

My work is influenced by the pattern of life and is guided by the saying “the whole is more than the sum of its parts”.

The imperfection in the pattern should reflect on the imperfection of life, but it shouldn’t be the main focal point of the picture. The coloured elements should give a clue for their true message.”
