PORTUGART - D Contemporary

Mara Alves founder of PortugArt, D Group the leading board level business network in the UK, supported by the Portuguese Embassy and other leading contemporary Artists, brought in the British springtime, 20 leading Portuguese artists to D Contemporary's premises in Grafton Street, London W1.

This was the most significant demonstration of the vibrancy of modern Portuguese art that London has seen for many years. As such this represents a unique opportunity for companies and institutions with strong Portuguese connections to profile themselves and their businesses alongside the best of the country's modern culture.

The Portuguese Ambassador to London, His Excellency João de Vallera comments: 'I commend Mara Alves for bringing PortugArt to the heart of Mayfair's world famous gallery district. I strongly welcome the aims of this project to showcase a group of emerging artists from different artistic expressions, underpinning the awareness of contemporary Portuguese art in the UK.
