TEMPEST - The Conductors

Annie Tempest’s ability to communicate in a few deft lines within her celebrated cartoons is well known to us and it now resonates within her sculpture. After two decades of dedicating herself daily to the challenge of ‘drawing in clay’ Tempest is a sculptor who has now found her voice.

The spectacular Conductor Series of six monumental bronzes, together with her Dancers demonstrate Tempest’s genius in capturing the essence of a moment. They echo a vitality for life in their slender forms, capturing the concentration and moment when we are most fully and fabulously alive.
