Geographics is an exhibition bringing together works of four international artists with diverse approaches to photographic practices such as conceptual photography, photojournalism, printmaking and film. The exhibition emphasizes the presence and absence of human identity in variety of different cultural and geographical contexts. The selected works mirror the spatial aspects of interactions between humans and the lived environment.
The subject is covered in a multitude of ways. Allen's work is often defined by the absence of the human figure accentuating constructed environments. The photography of Bedkowska deals with human intimacy and sexuality in relation to social expectation. Ruuska's work concentrates on the meditative interaction between the performer's body and the surrounding space. Staveris' selected work depicts the edges of the Athenian city life in a way that has never been seen before.
