This September, the Freelands Foundation presents a group exhibition of emerging painters from UK art schools. Look, will provide the painters with a vital platform from which to present work, and will place significance on the medium which has found a recent resurgence in popularity. The exhibition will showcase artists who are pushing the boundaries of paint, and celebrates the diversity of approaches to the medium in contemporary practice.
Look provides an exciting opportunity for eight emerging painters to present their work in a central London location during Frieze London, so soon after graduating. The artists, from BA and MA Fine Art and painting courses, have been nominated by their organisations, at the institutions of Bath School of Art & Design, University of Brighton, Kingston School of Art, Manchester School of Art, Plymouth College of Art, and Wolverhampton School of Art, alongside graduates from a selection of alternative art schools, comprising of The Essential School of Painting and Turps Art School.
Artists participating: Caitlin Doherty, Julius Griffin, Holly Nicholls, Maddalena Zadra, Cassandra Brooks, Jenny Eden, Tom Rapsey and Josh Uvieghara.
